found a Venue; now what's on the Menu?

Step 1: you've gotten married!! Now its time for the reception.
speeches. dancing. tinks on glasses. Slideshows. and lets not forget, foooooood... but what should u serve?

these days its hard to find one meal that everyone enjoys. that said a lot of people have resorted to creating custom menu's for their guests.

heres some ideas...

get inspired by swan lake

I continue to be inspired by editorials in high fashion magazines, especially the spreads shot by fashion photographer Tim Walker. “London based photographer Tim Walker has established himself at the cutting edge of fashion photography. His images capture a sublime moment in time, evoking a sense of epic drama and beauty. Stunning sets and lavish locations juxtapose the everyday with the absurd and the fabulous, to create captivating, original photographs.” via Design Museum

I would love to see the dreamy and lavish feel of these ‘Swan Lake’ couture photos by Tim Walker turned into a wedding. i can just imagine the ballerina bridesmaids, a tule bridal gown, tables layered in ruffles, Swarovski crystals hanging, ice blue linens, cream porcelain dinner wear.

Here comes the Braid...

Long-haired brides, you're in luck...
Short-haired brides, time to start growing out your hair (or splurge on extensions)

because these pretty plaits are here to stay:

...From Prada to Miu Miu to Alexander Wang, the Braid has evolved from street-wear casual to high-End Runway. Whether you are thinking loose curls, or teased up-do's.

add a little braid into it!

wear it down...

leave it long and keep it simple with a sexy side french braid.
feeling parisian? try the long side braid also known as the "milkmaid" braid. Not only does it have a soft natural look to it... it looks great against a one shoulder gown. Looking for something a little riskier? try the fish plait braid, its a version of the 'french braid' with a harder technique, but a more high end look. Everyone will be wondering how you did it!

braid it up..

think a braid + a headband is too much. think again. as seen on many stars. Nicole Richie, Anne Hathaway & Jessica Alba, the up-do braid is a stress free style. want to add a little more romance? Try a teased braided pony tail wrapped up in a thin head band. braid the bangs, or better yet add some modern knots and twists for a hippy-chic look.

something old?

Something old. something new. something borrowed. something blue. they say you need to have each of these before you walk down the aisle. Ever find it hard to find something old. and yet gorgeous? for the lucky some of you, your mother may own an antique ring or broach that matches your gown perfectly... for the rest of us i have one word. VINTAGE.

For the past couple years Vintage clothing, accessories, shoes purses, you name it. it was in & it was Vintage. with that said tones of Vintage shops started popping up everywhere all over downtown Toronto, not to mention Kensington Market! when it comes to bridal try by adding Vintage pieces such as small hair accessories, jewelry & even a bolero or shawl. Not only will it take care of something old, its also going to add a certain romance to your gown

here are some examples of beautiful vintage accessories;

new trend in town and i like to call it victorianne lace .

who says you cant jump back a few eras and make your day themed? sure not a lot of people do it BUT even if you don’t go all the way. adding a little theme into your day can make it feel dreaaaaaaamy...

dream away

think Engagement photos can be boring......

think no longer...is it necessary to be like everyone else and post a sitting pose photograph of each other holding your hand out showcasing your engagement ring. no way.

be original.
be different.
be you.
