October in Toronto is known far and wide as the beginning of the tried and true fund-raising event season. Make no mistake, we're awash in amazing parties and galas year-round, but there's just something about the first full month of autumn that ignites the charitable spirit. So, to help prep your for this month-long stretch of glitz, glam, and giving, we're piling together some noteworthy events you'll want to check out...

October 6th
Business for the Arts Awards Gala

Rewarding some of the most notable contributing business leaders in arts and culture, joined by some of Canada’s most recognized artists.
The Arnold Party
Following the Business for the Arts Awards Gala, get your kicks on at the afterparty – a Boardwalk Empire-themed event with live music, burlesque dancers, casino, and open bar.

October 14th
Boobyball is 10 years old this year and Rethink Breast Cancer is inviting you to its boobylicious celebration party. The craziness intends to raise awareness, money, and to create a future without breast cancer.

October 18th
Art With Heart
This art auction at The Carlu will support Casey House, and will see some of Canada's up-and-coming and well-known artists donating pieces to be auctioned in support of this worthy initiative.
Eat to the Beat
Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada's annual event, this fundraiser will see 60 of Canada's top female chefs creating culinary concoctions, alongside a silent auction, cocktails, and, as has become tradition at the event, corsets.

October 19th
Feast for the Fight
Canadian Cancer Society invites you to eat your heart out in order to save lives during this year’s Feast for the Fight. Make reservations today with any of the participating restaurants, and proceeds from your meal will go to support this amazing cause.

October 21st
Operanation 8: A Muse Ball
Celebrate artistic inspiration and the arts culture with a themed night, accompanied by food, dancing, live entertainment, and a performance by the highly acclaimed Rufus Wainwright.
The Chocolate Ball
This lavish, luxe, and elegant event will support Breast and Prostate Cancer initiatives, and promises to be an evening draped the finest chocolates and decadent delights.
Hatsquerade Masquerade
The Liberty Grand will play host to this evening in support of CAMH, which will see Virgin Radio's Mad Dog and Maura Grierson hosting the night dedicated to ending the stigma surrounding mental illness.

October 23rd
The Olive Branch for Children's 4th Annual Bowling Night
It may not be the most glam of fundraisers, but bowling for this significant cause is definitely a worthwhile addition to your October calendar.

October 27th
Paws for the Cause Gala
A fashion show like none other, where feisty pups strut the catwalk; an event dedicated to raising money for man’s best friend through the Ontario Veterinary College Trust Fund. Owners get to show off their prestigious pets dressed in designer duds, strutting to guest DJ performances.
Step into a new world ‘through the looking glass’ and enter an unforgettable reality with cocktails, delectable foods, auctions, and raffles. Proceeds go to Sheena’s Place, an amazing cause worth looking into.
Nzirambi Photo Exhibition Fundraiser
Showcasing pieces from Brian Pieters collection that captures the resilience and hope of women and children in Uganda, this event will raise funds for the Nzirambi Education Fund.

October 29th
The Venetian Ball
To be held at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, The Venetian Ball aims to raise funds to help support Villa Charities. This crown jewel of a benefit will have a spectacular concert of Italian music that will dazzle the black tie-clad crowd.
